AUTHENTICITY OF DUPLICATIONSS 24/25
The work explores the concept of authenticity and the attempts to replace or imitate it. From the irreplaceable original—the stone—emerges a new, empty glass entity based on the systematic nature that is typical of duplicates of any kind. The digital environment in which it was manipulated is imprinted onto this artificially created entity. It is based on the mirroring of a single selected area from the original, which made it possible to create a new, coherent “stone”—a duplicate. Through a spatial dialogue, a tension emerges between the original and the new entity. I create an artificial shell of the original. The question arises: what does authenticity mean, and can this new entity also be perceived as original?.
PROCESS
1. Selecting the stone - starting point
2. Scanning of the object
3. Selecting a suitable area for mirroring
4. Printing the mirrored pieces on a 3D printer
5. Silicone molds made from 3D prints
6. Plaster wedge mold for subsequent work with wax
7. Production of wax castings
8. Reinforced plaster-sand molds (8 pieces)
9. Removing the wax from the molds
10. Drying the molds
11. Blowing glass into the molds at the glassworks
12. Cooling in a furnace for 2–3 days
13. Cutting off the remaining part from glass blowing
14. Cleaning of the final blown parts
15. Adjustments and sanding
16. Installing the original piece as a part of the whole
